New laws now require all pools constructed or installed between 1st May 2010 to 31st October 2020, to have a compliance certificate lodged by owners with local council, by 1st June 2024.

3 Easy Steps To Barrier Compliance:

Statewide Pool Safety Inspections

REGISTER POOL/SPA WITH LOCAL COUNCIL

From the 1st November 2020, all pool owners in Victoria must register their pool or spa with their local council (via their website or in person). Councils will then make an assessment of the ‘applicable barrier standard’ of the individual Pool or Spa. Council then provides owners with written confirmation regarding their ‘Barrier Standard’. This information is in turn handed to the pool inspector so they can complete the entire safety inspection.

SCHEDULE INSPECTION WITH OUR TEAM

Book an appointment with our experienced inspectors, who will conduct a thorough inspection to ensure the pool/spa is compliant to the current standards, a certificate of compliance will be issued on the same day. If our inspectors find any issues with the barrier, our team will provide a comprehensive report with photos outlining rectification works to be undertaken (no fee for re-inspection once works are complete)

LODGE CERTICIATE WITH COUNCIL

Once you have received a “Certificate of Barrier Compliance”, there is a requirement that lodgement to your local council will need to be within 30 days, from being issued. As per the Victorian Builders Authority and also local council by laws, please conduct a self assessment of your pool/spa barrier using the available checklist. The list has been updated and is an essential certification process of your pool/spa as well
